Frequently Asked Question for Tenants
As a tenant you might have some of the following questions. If you can’t find the answer to a specific question feel free to give us a ring or send an email and we will be happy to answer.
How much notice do I need to give before I vacate the property?
If you intend to vacate the property at the end of your fixed term tenancy agreement, you are required by law to give us written notice 21 days prior to the expiry of your tenancy agreement.
Should you need to vacate the property before your fixed term tenancy agreement expires, you should contact Active Property Management as soon as possible.
What happens to my bond?
The bond is held by the Bond Centre until a Bond Refund form is filed by Active Property Management. The Bond Refund form needs to be signed by all the tenants listed on the Rental Agreement and Active Property Management. If there are no damages to the property and all the conditions as stated under section Vacating Guidelines have been met the bond will be released in full.
Do I need Insurance?
You need insurance to cover your household contents. It is also strongly recommended that you have insurance that will cover you for any damage done to the property.
The landlord will only insure the property. (e.g. the physical buildings and the section)
